The program, offered in conjunction with YCT Rabbinical School, is primarily aimed at semikha program applicants, but also accepts those looking to spend a year in immersive learning of Talmud, Tanakh, Halakha, and Makhshava.
Full scholarships and stipends are available to qualified students.
Applications are due by April 11th, after that applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
My rabbinate is possible because of the Beit Midrash Program, and for that I am tremendously grateful.
Our tradition highlights our innate talents, and gives us the infrastructure to be held by the community while we grow. This unfolding is too, in many ways, the story of our learning together in the Beit Midrash. We were invited to be inherently ourselves . . . to continue growing, seeing ourselves as important, being seen, and being counted as a part of the community.
[Rabba Wendy] pulled a group of disparate -- and maybe some of us were desperate -- people together and
created a tight bond. From Phoenix Arizona to Astoria, Spain; London, England to Portland,
Oregon we connected and became so much more than friends -- we are a chevra.
