Sidra is an innovative virtual Beit Midrash program that offers an immersive Yeshiva experience from the safety and comfort of your home. Students will participate in daily Chavruta learning and Shiur, utilizing hands-on tactics to further their familiarity and comfort with navigating the texts of Halakha and Jewish tradition. Students will be challenged to think critically, as they analyze the texts not just from the theoretical perspective of the Beit Midrash, but with a sensitivity to the significance and heaviness of the topics tackled. Intentionality and empathy will be central to the curriculum.
Sidra is a joint program between YCT and Maharat, and will expose students to the many resources both institutions have to offer. Students will have the opportunity to form personal relationships with leaders of Modern Orthodoxy, as they work together to achieve a greater understanding of how the Torah and tradition shed light on contemporary questions of religion, race, identity, and much more. The learning will be text-based, but all levels of Hebrew comfort are welcome.
