Dr. Katie Light Soloway

Dr. Katie Light Soloway is the Director of Recruitment and Admissions at Maharat. A California native, she holds a BA in Sociology from Trinity College (Hartford, CT), a dual MA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Jewish Professional Leadership from Brandeis University, and a PhD in Sociology from Boston University. Dr. Light Soloway has been engaged in studying identity, education, and the American rabbinate since 2007. She is thrilled to shift from researcher to practitioner in order to advance Orthodox women’s rabbinic leadership. Dr. Light Soloway lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband, Ben, and their three children, Simon, Ella, and Nessa.
