Dr. Yedida Eisenstat

Eisenstat

Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Yedida Eisenstat is a scholar, writer, and editor, currently based out of Nashville, TN, where she lives with her family. She holds a Ph.D. in Midrash and Scriptural Interpretation from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she wrote about Rashi’s use of midrash in his Torah commentary, better understood as a medieval midrashic anthology. She currently works as an editorial associate at the Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization. Before this, she taught Religion and Jewish Studies at Colgate University and York University. She also served briefly as an interim clergy person at Ohev Sholom - The National Synagogue.
She is passionate about the depth, richness, history and complexity of Jewish tradition, understanding it more and more deeply and helping others understand it more deeply.
